What community service project have you been a part of and how did you contribute?

Along with pursuing a dual major and minor, I am also the Vice President of the second largest student run organization on campus. The Multi-Cultural Council, MCC, is a student organization that serves as a liaison between the Student Government Association and other registered student organizations comprised of underrepresented groups. Organizations under the Multi-Cultural Council: Asian Student Organization (ASO) Association of Black Collegians (ABC) Human Relation Programming Council (HRPC) International Student Organization (ISO) Muslim Student Association (MSA) National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Organization of African and Caribbean Students (OACS) Organization of Latin American Students (OLAS) Trigon, and Women Today. The MCC host a variety of social and service events. The latest community service events that MCC has partaken in were the Coastal Clean-Up, down at Lake Erie's Presque’s Isle. Basically I collected trash and waste along the coast of the lake. Next weekend I am actually going to dedicate my time and creative chants to the selected corners of Erie, to go "canning" for THON. THON is the largest student run philanthropy in the world, and it is run by my peers, Penn State students!! THON raises money and awareness for pediatric cancer, giving children more birthdays. It is an honor and a pleasure to contribute to, and I can not wait to bundle up and get the can shaking.
