What have you learned from working with a client?

Unfortunately my client was unable to meet with neither my partner or I. All the knowledge that we have of our client is from the information we have found online.

What have you learned about service to the community? What will you do with this knowledge?

Prior to the class I had already believed in the significance of community service. There is a quote that  I try to convey stated by Albert Einstein  who said,“It is every man's obligation to put back into the world at least the equivalent of what he takes out of it.”  I myself have been allotted plenty of opportunities, that without, I wouldn't be nearly as focus, driven, and fortunate. So to perform a simple task of service for another so that they in return can better themselves is time NOT wasted. Helping one help themselves is the best gift to give and the best lesson to learn.  The knowledge that I have obtained from my service is that I  have the ability and skill to helped someone.

How has your Value Proposition changed if it has? How has your knowledge/skills grown this semester? What will you do with this knowledge in the future?

Yes, my value position has changed.  I have learned that the things that I want to change and display beyond my ability to apply to my Eportfolio. But I have learned a lot this semester, especially from dream weaver. While working on my portfolio as well as my web page for Community of Caring. For an example, I have learned the difference between responsive and non-responsive templates. Also I picked up a few tricks on how to read and change content. I know that google chrome is a great tool to practice on the template. In google chrome it highlights the areas, therefore you don't have to search for the code in dream weaver. I know it may be simple but I've learned and remembered the name of my favorite colors via code. In the future I plan, to take time to go through enough classes on code academy to really improve my web page design skills.

What will you changed about your eportfolio? How will you increase your search sngine rankability?

I will make several changes to my E-Portfolio. Starting with the template, I would rather start from scratch than simply downloading it from a free website. It would make the portfolio more time consuming of course, but then I would not have to rearranging and changing formats.  I will add  specific projects and services that I have done and was involved in, therefore making me appealing to employers. This will include my achievements and  recommendations from professors and previous employers. The way I will increase my search engine "rankability" will be by increasing my involvement with  social network websites. As a result employers can search my name, and it will be the top candidate, since my name is so uniquely spelled ;-).

How has your SEO ranking changed since the beginnig of the semester? What have you learned from this?

SEO is search engine optimization. Search engine optimization is a strategy used to increase the traffic to a website and increase where the web page of a site is, or ranks, in a search when searched using a search engine. Search engine results are natural and you cannot pay to increase where your website or webpage appears in a search engine. You are able to increase this, however, in a way that is natural or “organic.” Sites that rank higher when searched are sites that are more frequently visited when users search something, often related, to the website/page. In order to organically or naturally increase where your page appears in a search for users, you can place keywords in the back-end of your HTML webpages. Other things that increase where you appear in a search is the use of social media.

SEO brings value to an organization because it allows users to find what they are looking for. If your site is related to what they are looking for, then it will increase traffic to your company or organization’s website. With more traffic to you company or organization’s website comes more business. You can more effectively communicate with your target audience. You could even better define who your target audience is and what segment(s) of the market you are appealing to. All in all, it helps with marketing your business to people who are looking for your product or service. This is the major benefit to your organization/company.

Search engine optimization is a tool used for website analytics. Analytics is the analysis of data and statistics of your website. The two are compliments of one another. Similar to how SAP is used for ERP. SEO and analytics are two different things that work together in order to achieve a common goal. For example, if you are in a group doing a project and the team decides to divide the tasks of the project into parts amongst its team members. Your submission (the SEO) to the over all project (the over all Analytics) is a part that is necessary to achieve the projects common goal.

SEO and Analytics could be set up for Community of Caring by using many different sources available. One particularly popular amongst businesses is Google Analytics, although this is available to users at a cost which is not very optimal for a non-profit organization. One simple way of creating SEO and analytics is to place keywords in the back-end of your HTML webpages, which naturally increases where your page appears in a search for users. Another way is to be actively involved on social media websites, creating posts, relevant statuses, or blogging.

What is your brand? What do you want people to know about you from looking at your eportfolio?

My name is my brand. I am a representative of myself. My actions, words, and thoughts epitomize who I am and who I want to be. In previous blogs I have already listed a glimpse of who I am, but it is who I want to be that is paramount. I want to be a service to all mankind, by supplying them with information and tools that will retain and help restore what natural resources that are God given. Through sustainable market research I want to create greener alternatives from essentials such as food/diet to biodegradable luxuries ( PUMA and TOMS already has implemented biodegradable sneakers in their shoe line) all without drastically changing daily procedures and routines. As marketer I want to  highly advertise and promote greener living to the extent that it is no longer an alternative but a norm. I'm not naive, I know I can not change everything, at least within my lifetime. "I'm not saying I'm going to change the world, but I (want to) guarantee that I will spark the brain that will." - Tupac

This will be my mark on the world.

Everything that I have stated will  not even be remotely close to what is in my eportfolio, but it will impulse the user to stay tuned!

How can you simplify your social media posting so you do not have to go to mulitple places to post?

HootSuite, its a social media management website. I understand that it becomes a little annoying to have multiple social media addresses with separate login in pages. Its both time and space consuming. Often times when users are on the computer, they will have to open multiple tabs to login into varies websites, whether it is Facebook, Twitter, or Pinetrest. The Same issue goes for your cellular device, so much space and gigabytes are wasted by downloading varies apps that connect individuals to their social networks. So websites such as HootSuite, have eliminated the middle man to improve your productivity. Most people tend to use the same profile and login information for their social networks anyway. HootSuite gives the user the ability to check the statuses, posts, or updates of their varies social networks with the ease of just a finger scroll.

What is Pinterest and how can it help you as a social media tool? What other new social media tool would you find beneficial?

Pinterest is photo sharing online pin board website. It is a great idea generator and online organizer. You may upload varies photos you find on the web or from personal collection, as well as like or pin other users photos. It is easy to set up an account, not much information is needed. Once the user get started the instructions are basic and straightforward.unlike most social media websites, Pinterest is purely photo sharing, no conversing necessary. For organization purposes, you create boards with specific category features and search. There has been a recent rise in Pinterest for wedding planning, meal preparation, and herbal gardening.
I am not a early adaptor on new and  trending social media tools, but I do find CardMunch very beneficial. CardMunch part of LinkedIn (another very useful social media website), it is a mobile business card  transcription service. It is a quick easy way to save and reconnect with a fellow professional. This is also a great organization tool for people who are constantly exchanging business cards. Not only does it stores the contact information in your LinkedIn, but it saves you the time of searching and sending a friend request online!

What is Klout score? Describe its value to you

Klout.com is a website that measures your score of social media influence. It's the analytic of social media networks! No matter what social media source, whether it is Facebook, twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and even Blogger. Klout recognizes your power to influence by your involvement in social networking and ability to gain the interest of followers. As a registered member of Klout, you will receive a rank between 1- 100, to indicate your score.
Klout can personally be of value to me and any social media users. Businesses and recruiters are constantly searching the web for potential employees. The time and passion that I invest into blogging and tweeting can be accounted for. Employers will see that not only am I involved and connected to my environment, but they will also see the power of influence I have to initiate awareness or change. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well so is 140 characters. Receiving recognition for something I do in my leisure time can be of great value when it is put to good use. Maintaining a high Klout Score can eliminate potential competitors if used effectively.

What community service project have you been a part of and how did you contribute?

Along with pursuing a dual major and minor, I am also the Vice President of the second largest student run organization on campus. The Multi-Cultural Council, MCC, is a student organization that serves as a liaison between the Student Government Association and other registered student organizations comprised of underrepresented groups. Organizations under the Multi-Cultural Council: Asian Student Organization (ASO) Association of Black Collegians (ABC) Human Relation Programming Council (HRPC) International Student Organization (ISO) Muslim Student Association (MSA) National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Organization of African and Caribbean Students (OACS) Organization of Latin American Students (OLAS) Trigon, and Women Today. The MCC host a variety of social and service events. The latest community service events that MCC has partaken in were the Coastal Clean-Up, down at Lake Erie's Presque’s Isle. Basically I collected trash and waste along the coast of the lake. Next weekend I am actually going to dedicate my time and creative chants to the selected corners of Erie, to go "canning" for THON. THON is the largest student run philanthropy in the world, and it is run by my peers, Penn State students!! THON raises money and awareness for pediatric cancer, giving children more birthdays. It is an honor and a pleasure to contribute to, and I can not wait to bundle up and get the can shaking.

What is CSS? Describe a topic in your major to show your knowldge.

Cascading Style Sheet, CSS, for short, is a style/design sheet used to format a hyper text markup language, html, and document. We have recently experimented with CSS in Dreamweaver.
As mentioned in my earlier blogs, I major in International Business and Marketing. The topic I will like to elaborate on is what determines market attractiveness. As a marketer you have to take different aspects into perspective before pursuing a potential marketing opportunity.
A few key factors to consider are: Growth- rate, ease of entry, number of competitors, market fragmentation, market demand, and purchasing power of customer. Of course there are many more factors to consider before actually entering a market. Below is the the PLC, Product Life Cycle. Knowing where the opportunity gap is on the scale is the key to launching a new differentiated product. Experienced marketers may agree that the best time to enter a new market is between the introduction and growth stage. This is the stage where the innovators and early adapters, these are your lead users, the ones to watch

Describe a specific html tag and what it does

HTML stands for hyper text mark up language. One specific tag for html is <title> and </title>.
Each tag has a opening and closing. The opening is just the two brackets and the colosing is </>. The title tag is tthe first tag when making a webpage. The title tag is exactly what it says, the title. Anything immediately following the opening tag will be the tilte then immediately close with the closing brakets.

How will you organize your Facebook?

I do not have a Facebook...well I do but it is inactivated. From a professional stand point I should search and friend request all the companies and businesses that I am interested . It will probably also be a good idea to follow the job recruiters of those specific companies as well. As for my personal profile only post pictures that display positive characteristics of you that you would want potential employers to see.
Another suggestion for those who want to have fun and be more social is to just have two separate accounts one for fun one for business. My actual account is a combination of both of my suggestions. Sine I travel a lot, the pictures that are uploaded to my account are only of the domestic and international places I have been.Containing a album titled of the country or destination  All of the pictures that I am tagged in are those usually of community service, club/organization, or academic related. I do not think Facebook is really a place to be professional but I still believe you should be conservative and cautious of what you post. There are other useful and professional networks that serve as career generated such as LinkedIn and my Orgsync account, provided by the school.

What do you want prospective employers to know about you? What is your value proposition and why?

In my first blog I stated that I am pursuing a double major in International Business and Marketing. Along with a minor for Management, plus two certificates for Global Awareness and Social Media. Which means among other prodigious qualities, I am equipped to communicate (advertise/promote) on every level from domestic to international. I want my prospective employers to know that I am a professional and that the purpose of marketing is not what is taught in the traditional introductory level class, that the four P's product, price, place, and promotion are just the fundamentals for amateurs. I know that our job as marketers is not just to sell goods, services, and ideas, but to offer solutions instead of products and to replace price with value. We are the innovators , the inventors of the next best thing, constituting to a higher standard, and evolving the way people live everyday. I know that being great at anything doesn't mean you have all the right answers but instead ask all the right questions. I am charismatic, curious, creative, open minded, and confident that if put in any position I will strive to be exemplary.

What will be the primary target audience for your website? What is your primary color and why do you choose that color? That is what color do you think represents you?

Green! Green, Green, Green. As I clearly pointed out, green, is my favorite color. The color green can be associated with health, hope, life, love, and new beginnings. In Asian countries, green or better known as Jade, is a color of prosperity. I am a jolly outgoing person who is optimistic even at the most inconvenient times. I can't even go shopping without wondering, does this come in green??? It's not just one shade of green either, I believe all shades are beautiful and is an unique representative of its name. I was born in the month of May, which means that even my birthstone color is green, well Emerald. It is like the goddess of love herself, Venus, came down and granted me this color knowing that I will represent it well. So naturally, green, will be the primary color I will use for my website. Just as the green Venus Flytrap, allures its prey, I hope to capture my target audience, graduate schools and prospective employers, with my website in pursuit of stupendous opportunities.

What is your major and why?

I am college senior at Penn State University- The Behrend College. I am dual majoring in International Business and Marketing. I may also pick up a minor in Management, along with a certificate in Global Awareness, Social Media, and Sustainability. Throughout my years in college my peers, friends, and family have asked me "What is your major" followed by " wow...why did you choose that??". To me, a person who have invested years of my life to ascertain this subject, of course, would think this sounds like a silly statement. Why not??? We live in society that is continuing to grow and connect globally. The business part of me wants to state how companies and organizations all over the world are competing with each other to deliver the best product or service in order to achieve maximum profit, and it will be students and professionals like myself that are provided with the skills and knowledge to assess these situations. But truly, I want to pursue a career in Sustainable Marketing Research. I want to travel the continents and shake hands with every nation. I want to experience and live within many cultures while supplying them with goods and services that will be beneficial to people and the environment. Most if not all organizations are "Going Green". Saving/Preserving the Earth is a trend that I believe will never go out of style. And as long as people need air, water, and other necessities I will continue to learn and grow professionally and intellectually.
